Things to Do in Prague
Prague rewards a plan built around neighborhoods rather than a checklist of isolated monuments. Castle Hill and Malá Strana fit naturally together, Charles Bridge connects them with Old Town, and the New Town or Vyšehrad can anchor another day.
Distances on a map can look short, but cobbles, hills, interiors and viewpoints slow the pace. Two connected districts per day leave enough time for meals, photographs and the details that disappear during a rushed crossing.

Day one from Prague Castle to Old Town
Take tram 22 toward Hradčany and begin near Pohořelec or Prague Castle. Walk through the castle complex, then descend through Nerudova Street into Malá Strana. Kampa and the Lennon Wall form a short detour before the route crosses Charles Bridge.
Old Town Square, the Astronomical Clock and the lanes around Týn complete the central sequence. Save the town hall tower for late afternoon if visibility is good. The full route has many stairs and standing time, so use a tram segment when energy starts to drop.
Day two beyond the medieval core
Begin at the National Museum and walk down Wenceslas Square through the New Town passages. Continue toward the river, the National Theatre and the Dancing House. Náplavka provides a relaxed waterside section before the climb to Vyšehrad. At Vyšehrad, follow the walls to the basilica, cemetery and western viewpoints. Metro line C makes the return straightforward. Another version replaces Vyšehrad with the Jewish Quarter and Letná Park if museums and a high river panorama have greater priority.
Food, transport and time for photographs
Leave central squares for at least one meal in a nearby residential street. Czech menus may include soup, roast meats, sauces, dumplings and seasonal dishes beyond the familiar snack stands. Reserve popular dining rooms and check recent opening information directly with the restaurant.
Trams handle short connections that would otherwise repeat the same walk. A timed transit pass can be simpler than separate tickets during a full sightseeing day. For photographs, use early morning at Charles Bridge and Old Town, then choose western or river viewpoints for the later light.
Add a third day by interest
Families can devote a day to Prague Zoo and Troja Chateau. Architecture-focused travelers may explore Vinohrady, Žižkov and Holešovice, while a slower historical route can include Strahov, Loreto and the lanes of Hradčany. Weather should guide the order rather than cancel the plan. Keep one open block for a return to the district that worked best for you. Prague changes with light and street activity, and a second pass often produces stronger photographs than adding another distant stop.
