Prague Airport to the City Center
Václav Havel Airport Prague has no direct Metro station. Public transport connects both passenger terminals with Metro lines A and B, while the Airport Express serves the main railway station on a separate fare.
The right option depends on the hotel location, arrival time, luggage and mobility. Check the live route after landing because road work and transit changes can alter the fastest connection.

Trolleybus 59 and Metro line A
Trolleybus 59 runs from the airport to Nádraží Veleslavín, where passengers transfer to Metro line A. This route works well for Malá Strana, Staroměstská, Můstek, Vinohrady and other stops along the green line.
Standard Prague public transport tickets apply. Buy enough validity for the bus and Metro together, then validate according to the ticket format. Escalators and elevators exist at many stations, but large luggage can make a central tram transfer less convenient.
Bus 100, Airport Express and night routes
Bus 100 connects the terminals with Zličín on Metro line B. It may suit hotels near Anděl, Smíchov, Náměstí Republiky or Karlín. The Airport Express travels to Praha hlavní nádraží and uses its own ticket rather than the ordinary urban fare. Night buses link the airport with the city when daytime Metro service has ended. Travel can take longer and transfers need attention. Use the official DPP or PID journey planner with the actual arrival time to avoid relying on an outdated route number.
Taxi and prearranged transfer
Prague Airport provides an official taxi arrangement at the terminals. Follow airport signs and confirm the destination in the app or at the service point before departure. A prearranged transfer can help with child seats, larger groups or mobility requirements.
Do not accept unsolicited rides in the arrivals hall. Keep the hotel address in writing and check whether the price includes waiting, parking and late arrival. Traffic makes road travel highly variable during weekday peaks.
Tickets, terminals and arrival checks
Terminal 1 generally handles flights outside the Schengen area, while Terminal 2 handles Schengen flights. Walk between them if baggage reclaim or a meeting point creates confusion. Public transport stops serve the terminal frontage and ticket machines accept common payment methods. Save the hotel route and booking contact before flying. Exchange only a small amount of cash at the airport if needed, since cards work at ticket machines and official services.
